Product information has been important throughout the supply chain and retail for centuries. The internet, and the growth of Amazon, have presented unique opportunities, and challenges as regards product information and its uses. In this session, Neil Roseman, whose first project at Amazon launched the now-ubiquitous Amazon Standard Item Number (ASIN), will give an insider’s view on the early days of product information on the internet. Hang on, it might be a bumpy ride!
Product information is crucial in many industries, and through all parts of the value creation process. The internet age has created unique challenges and put stress on legacy systems in ways that were undreamt of in the analog commerce days. We will look at the ways product information has changed, and how far it still has to go in the world of iOT, personalization, machine learning, and global commerce, and much more. Neil Roseman has worked for transformational product companies for over three decades. Prior to Amazon, he built the DAM for the first eCommerce site to sell and stream digital music on the internet – Music Boulevard in 1996. This session will feature stories and insights from his experience.

In this session we will look at what role print plays in omnichannel commerce and ways to streamline processes through automation while still offering you the creative freedom to deliver the product experience customers expect.

As a leading chemicals and specialty materials manufacturer, having accurate, accessible product information is key to Arkema's ability to serve its customers. In 2019 Arkema embarked on a PIM project to ensure delivery of high quality product information in technical data sheets, and to offer an online environment for customers to search for and compare products based on characteristics of the material. In this session, Lucas Rougier will discuss the requirements and PIM journey underway at Arkema and describe how PIM has helped them enhance the product experience for their customers.
